Magic Loop – Magic Circle – Magic Ring As with many crochet techniques, there may be several names for one technique. That is the case with this crochet skill. I’ve been making a lot of circular motifs, and finding the sliding ring/magic loop technique has become my favourite method to start in the round. The double loop start, or magic loop or amigurumi start as it is also known, is an alternate way to start a project in the round. There are various ways to crochet in circles; here, Abbie Southern demonstrates two of them – the Magic Loop method, and a simple chain stitch technique.
